BATON ROUGE, La. - Today, Superintendent John White testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions in Washington, D.C., during the Supporting Children and Families through Investments in High-Quality Early Education hearing. Supt. White detailed the work of the Early Childhood Care and Education Network Pilot Program, created by Act 3 of the 2012 Regular Legislative Session, to unify a fragmented early childhood education system in Louisiana. When fully implemented in 2015-2016, the networks will expand access to high quality, publicly-funded early childhood programs to families across Louisiana to ensure more children enter school kindergarten ready.
